The Cast Edge Process |
|
Two component polyurethane edging material is machine cast into a simple MDF tool with a polyurethane or silicone mould liner or negative. This negative is itself moulded from an MDF master or pattern. The edging material both copies the form of the mould liner and bonds to substrate. When removed from tool, the edge is an integral part of the board with no apparent seam or joint to breakdown or collect dirt. Curves, radii, upstands, undercuts and returns are as easy as straight and simple edges. In fact the more difficult the shape is to produce, the more suited it is to Polyform process.
